Q: Why do I have to choose a set number of defenders, forwards, midfielders and rucks? A: To make the Weekly Times SuperCoach game more like the challenge that confronts real coaches and selectors each week.

Q: How many players do I need in my squad? A: Only teams with a full squad of 33 players will earn points. Each round you select 22 players for your starting line-up. You can also select 3 emergencies to cover late omissions from your 22. You can make changes to your team at any time prior to the first match of a round. If you choose to leave your team untouched between rounds, the same 22 players will compete for your Weekly Times SuperCoach team.

Q: How do I find a particular player? A: Weekly Times SuperCoach goes to great lengths to ensure that every player from every club is available for selection. If you can't find someone, try using the Find a Player search box on the Champion Data Stats Centre page. If you still can't find them, please contact us and we'll investigate.

Select your complete squad

Your first task is to select a squad of 33 players who will carry your hopes for season 2011. Remember, you MUST have 33 players in your squad before each round in order to score points.

Choosing your squad is easy, but you need to stay within your $10 million salary cap. Each player has a price and it's up to you to decide how you'll spend your player budget.

When you're choosing a team for the upcoming round, you need to choose a starting 22 from your 33-man squad. You also need to choose three emergencies who will replace any players from your starting 22 who withdraw from their real-life teams at the last moment. You will also be able to select your team captain, who will add double his points towards your team score. Your selected vice captain will take over the captain duties and score double points, if your selected captain is a late withdrawal or doesn't play for any reason.

Eight of your squad will have to wait for the next round to be considered for selection.

Squad Restrictions

Your squad needs to include the right number of players from each position. You can select from any club, but you must have the following player types:

10 x Defenders
9 x Midfielders
4 x Rucks
10 x Forwards

If you exceed your salary cap or choose the wrong number of positions, don't worry. SuperCoach will let you know that you've got something wrong and you can adjust your squad accordingly.
